Hot Chocolate Run: High Street Closures on Sunday Morning, November 15, 2026

Please be aware that High Street will be closed to vehicle traffic well before the 8:00 a.m. service due to the Hot Chocolate Run. Pedestrians should still be able to cross High Street before 8:00 a.m. and again after approximately 9:40 a.m.

The 10K and 15K races begin at 8:30 a.m. and travel south on High Street past Zion, around Schiller Park, and onto Thurman Avenue before returning north on High Street past Zion a second time. Runners are expected to pass Zion between 8:40 a.m. and 9:40 a.m.

Parking Access

  • From the north or east: Access parking east of High Street via southbound 3rd Street to Frankfort Avenue or Columbus Street.
  • From the south or west: Take State Route 104 to Parsons Avenue, then continue to Columbus Street.

Please note that vehicle access to Zion from the west side of High Street will not be available during the race. However, pedestrians should be able to walk across High Street before runners arrive and after the race traffic has cleared.

We encourage everyone attending worship services that morning to allow extra travel time and plan their route accordingly.
